Elissa is an angel investor and founder of WOMENA, a Dubai-based angel investment platform. Born and raised in Paris, the Emirati of Lebanese and American descent graduated from the American University of Paris with a BA in Global Communications and speaks 4 languages. As an active angel with over 28 investments between North America and MENA, she has been frequently listed by media outlets and most notably by Arabian Business’ 100 most powerful Arab women in 2015 and 2016 as well as the 100 most influential Arabs under 40.
Christina Andreassen oversees administration, business development and event management. Having spent the last eight years growing social enterprises in Bangkok, Beirut and Dubai, she brings to WOMENA her experience managing gender and education-focused projects. Christina holds a BA in International Development from Middlesex University and speaks English, Thai and Norwegian.
Dulce Lada oversees website and general administration, project management, digital marketing, and various tech support. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, she has immersed herself in the startup ecosystem in various roles. At WOMENA, she continues to share her passion for women empowerment and entrepreneurship.
Nermine Chatila oversees deal flow and investments. She worked in New York, Beirut and Dubai with the full spectrum of the entrepreneurship ecosystem including startups, accelerators, universities, policy makers and, now, investors. She received her Bachelors in Economics from the American University of Beirut and pursued her Masters in Economic Policy and Education as a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University. She speaks English, Arabic and French.
Bassam Freiha has been CEO and President of Dar Assayad, one of the most successful publishing houses in the Middle East, since 1960. He is also a prominent political advisor in the Gulf, Special Envoy of the Lebanese President with Cabinet Status, and Ambassador from Belize to UNESCO. He has received recognition for his political and journalistic work from the governments of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Spain, France, Zaire, and Malta and was named one of NBC Naaman Biographical Centre’s 2000 Most Prominent Arabs of the 20th Century and was given Biography of the Year.

Ossama is an entrepreneur, mentor, and venture capitalist. Over the last 30 years, he has managed over $1 billion of international technology funds in diverse leadership roles including EVP of Berkeley International in San Francisco, Chairman of Technocom Ventures in Paris, President of Newbridge Networks Holding in Canada, Senior Managing Director of Newbury Ventures, and Chairman of the Rising Tide Fund in Silicon Valley. In the eighties, he led the mezzanine financing of 80+ Silicon Valley based IT companies that became spectacular successes including: Adaptec; Cirrus Logic; Atmel; PMC-Sierra; LSI Logic; Linear Technologies; and Oracle. Combined market value today exceeds $170 billion.
