Hiring: Junior Video Content Editor

Womena is rolling out a new strategy next year and we are looking for a smart and creative problem solver to join our team as a Junior Video Content Editor. In the role, you’ll have the opportunity to empower women, develop the Middle East’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and support budding entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce, capture and edit video content
  • Actively participate in video content strategy and planning sessions
  • Assist in developing interview questions and storyboards
  • Support the team throughout the production process, which may include finding interview subjects and creating graphics
  • Facilitate fact-checking, research and provide copywriting and proofreading support to the Marketing team
  • Maintain the brand’s style guide to ensure consistency across all Womena materials
  • Maintain video library and Responsible for logging, archiving, organizing footage and other various tasks related to production
  • Assist in ideation, execution, and production of editorial content as needed

Requirements:

  • Ability to quickly craft high quality videos, .gifs, and images (also memes)
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or other editing platforms
  • Must be comfortable working in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Must be comfortable with most video codecs and formats
  • 1-2+ years experience editing online content
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent working experience
  • Motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with an open mind and easygoing attitude
  • Must be meticulous, technical, organized, and creative at the same time
  • Passionate about the Womena community and the women empowerment movement

Bonus points:

  • Fluent in Arabic
  • Experience in VFX, motion graphics and design a plus
  • Experience behind a camera and knowledge of lighting and sound design a plus
  • Good understanding of social media best practices across all major platforms
  • Preferably familiar with the MENA tech startup ecosystem

The job is Dubai-based with a Sunday to Thursday schedule but the candidate must be flexible on time and location; there may be occasions when you will have to travel and you must be available when there is a WOMENA event (normally on a weekend or an evening).
