“Focusing on female-led startups is a very smart investment decision, and this is one of the reasons that womena pivoted into having an accelerator,” says womena founder Elissa Freiha.
Cycle 2 of our Womentum Accelerator kicked off last week in Berlin, where we are hosting 8 of the Middle East’s top female-led tech startups for an immersive two-week bootcamp focusing on business and financial modeling, pitching, branding, legal, tech and more.
The startups were welcomed by the UAE ambassador to Germany, HE Ali Abdulla Al Ahmed, who heard them pitch their startups and gave them insight into the Dubai ecosystem, where the cohort will be heading in October ahead of the final Demo Day.
“Where the idea first comes from, that always counts, but where it’s incubated – that’s where the UAE is supporting all these new ideas,” he told womena media.
The UAE Embassy in Germany will be hosting a showcase to wrap up the Berlin bootcamp where startups will be pitching to the local ecosystem.
