Everything Has Changed – Season 1: Beirut

Can one ever really return home? In this trilogy of Womena’s new YouTube series “Everything Has Changed”, we’re exploring the questions that haunt the diaspora who return to their ancestral home.

This series looks at the ways in which our lives have changed over the last decade, the realities we continue to carry with us and the new narratives we’ve adopted.

“With a new wave of emigration from Lebanon in the last two years due to socioeconomic collapse, those who choose to return and remain, like myself, are becoming more of an anomaly,” says host Angela Brussel, a journalist and the founder of multimedia platform Nour Jan Presents, which takes ethnographic deep dives into different diaspora communities.

“This trilogy “The Diaspora Returns” was brought to life in collaboration with Angela Brussel of Nour Jan presents.
